Hello! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Malcolm and I was born and bred (for the most part) in the North East of England and like most Geordies I'm passionate about my region. I'm in the first half of my fifties and was recently described by one of Tyneside's Entrepreneurs like this "Malcolm... a really nice guy but he’s been around a bit!" Which is true, I have, but not in a bad way...
“I think I could, if I only knew how to begin. For, you see, so many out-of-the-way things had happened lately that Alice had begun to think that very few things indeed were really impossible.”
As well as being a Novelist, Lewis Carroll was also a Logician, Mathematician and Photographer.

To laugh is to risk appearing the fool. To weep is to risk being called sentimental. To reach out to another is to risk involvement. To expose feelings is to risk showing your true self. To place your ideas and your dreams before them is to risk being called naive. To love is to risk not being loved in return. To live is to risk dying. To hope is to risk despair, and to try is to risk failure.
But risks must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing. The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing and becomes nothing. He [or she] may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he simply cannot learn and feel and change and grow and love and live. Chained by his certitudes, he is a slave, he’s forfeited his freedom.
Only the person who risks is truly free.
Dr. Leo Buscaglia

As you know, every know and again I like to introduce a song that I feel raises the spirits or hits my motivational spot and if I’m ever feeling a bit low on energy I always love to play this – Heather Small, singing Proud. It also reminds me of David and Jennifer, who are now happily living in Northern Cyprus, as it is a favourite of theirs.
I look into the window of my mind
Reflections of the fears I know I’ve left behind
I step out of the ordinary
I can feel my soul ascending
I’m on my way
Can’t stop me now
And you can do the same
What have you done today to make you feel proud
It’s never too late to try
What have you done today to make you feel proud
You could be so many people
If you make that break for freedom
What have you done today to make you feel proud
Still so many answers I don’t know
Realise that to question is how we grow
So I step out of the ordinary
I can feel my soul ascending
I am on my way
Can’t stop me now
And you can do the same
What have you done today to make you feel proud
It’s never too late to try
What have you done today to make you feel proud
You could be so many people
If you make that break for freedom
What have you done today to make you feel proud
We need a change
Do it today
I can feel my spirit rising
We need a change
So do it today
‘Cause I can see a clear horizon
What have you done today to make you feel proud
So what have you done today to make you feel proud
‘Cause you could be so many people
If you make that break for freedom
So what have you done today to make you feel proud
What have you done today to make you feel proud
What have you done today
You could be so many people
Just make that break for freedom
So what have you done today to make you feel proud
